The mouth harp is thought to be one of the oldest musical instruments in the world, the first news appeared in a Chinese drawing of the 3rd century BC. This instrument originated in Asia and used for all the Turkic tribes of Asia. It is known in those lands as komuz Temir, komuzu Agiza or gubuz.


It can be found in many regions of the world have been carried by travelers in ancient times, settlers and conquerors. Examples are Italy, Sicily, Mongolia, Austria and mountain regions of Europe, as well as in America, where it was used formerly in northern Brazil, in the northern region of Argentina by communities wichis tuffs and Chaco, and is present in the Mapuche indigenous communities both the Chilean and the Argentinean side.
